Arnold “Arnie” Benjamin Weiss Visionary Product Leader | Global Video & Ad Technology

For over two decades, Arnold “Arnie” Weiss has been a pivotal force in digital media, architecting the scalable global platforms that power the video revolution. As a product executive, he blends deep technical expertise—rooted in a foundational career in live broadcasting—with strategic business acumen to lead world-class teams in the FAST, AVOD, and OTT sectors.

A Career Journey: From Broadcast Foundation to Digital Leadership

Arnie’s career in media began at the extraordinary age of 11, when he worked on the American League Championship Series for ABC Sports. This passion for live production continued throughout high school and led him to Syracuse University’s prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. There, he produced all the game and recruiting films for the legendary Men’s Basketball team, earning him an honorary membership in the university’s Hardwood Club. This launched him into the first half of his career as a producer and associate director for ABC, CBS, and ESPN, where he worked on premier global sporting events like the Super Bowl and honed his technical skills as an IBEW-affiliated RF audio engineer.

His pivot from traditional television began with “Enhanced TV” projects for ABC and Disney before diving fully into streaming with Media on Demand in New York. He then built the highly successful streaming media and broadcast graphics departments at Atlantic Video in Washington, D.C. During this time, Arnie became a key figure in the D.C. tech community as a founding member of the Washington D.C. Technology Council and the Board of Trade’s “Greater Washington Initiative.”

This unique combination of experiences set the stage for his work on a global scale at AOL where he built oversaw the development and launch of the AOL Video portal, In2TV, and the integration of AOL into Huffington Post. Arnie then moved on to Viacom (now Paramount Global), where he led the distribution and monetization of over six billion annual video streams across desktop, digital, and OTT leveraging server side and dynamic ad insertion (DAI). Arnie represented Viacom in SMPTE working groups and managed complex partnerships with Comcast, Amazon, Verizon, Freewheel, among others.

Arnie was tapped by Fusion, a joint venture of Univision and Disney, as the Head of Video Product. There, he directed the go-to-market strategy for over 10 new OTT applications, increasing total video streams by 150% in 18 months. He expanded the channel’s audience by over 20 million households and grew programmatic ad revenue by over 300% in the first year by leading the implementation of Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI).

As Chief Product Officer at Fizzi Mex, Arnie architected a cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform from the ground up, enabling broadcasters to launch FAST channels globally. His work has reduced client time-to-market from months to days and increased their content monetization by an average of 40%. Owning the full P&L for product and engineering, he has managed a multi-million dollar budget, built a high-performing 25-person global remote team, and driven a product roadmap that directly supports a 35% compound annual growth rate (CAGR).

System Builder for a Better World

Driven by a core philosophy of building better systems for people, Arnie applies his skills beyond technology. His agile, on-the-ground humanitarian efforts at the Ukrainian border were formally recognized by the City of Miami Beach. This same problem-solving mindset guided his 2024 campaign for Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections, where he proposed a comprehensive technical roadmap to modernize the voting process.
