Arnold “Arnie” Benjamin Weiss is a highly accomplished and results-oriented Senior Video and Ad Tech Product Executive with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. His expertise lies in global video and ad technology product development and strategy, consistently demonstrating innovation, inclusive team building, and exceptional relationship management across diverse markets including the United States, LATAM, EMEA, and Asia.
Arnie possesses a deep understanding of the evolving video landscape, with core competencies encompassing content distribution for various platforms such as FAST, AVOD, SVOD, MVPDs, and VMVPDs, as well as web and mobile. He is adept at navigating the complexities of enterprise ad tech, exchanges, and programmatic serving. His technical acumen extends to cloud encoding, hosting, and distribution architecture, coupled with a strong understanding of UI/UX product design and development for desktop, mobile, and OTT environments.
Throughout his career, Arnie has successfully leveraged various product development methodologies including Agile, Discovery, SAFe SCRUM, Waterfall, and Extreme. He has held significant P&L responsibility, championed product and engineering initiatives, and expertly managed product roadmaps and requirements documentation (PRD, RFP, RFQ, SDL). His experience also includes extensive domestic and international content management, production, syndication, and distribution.
Arnie’s current role as Chief Product Officer at Fizzi Mex (2017-Present) showcases his ability to spearhead the development of disruptive solutions for virtual linear and FAST channels across global markets. He has architected new cloud-based software solutions for virtualizing linear video channels, designed and implemented programmatic DAI advertising workflows for major platforms like Freewheel and Google Ad Manager, and cultivated a thriving environment for adaptive product teams. Leading geographically dispersed teams across four continents, Arnie is responsible for P&L and serves as a key evangelist for the company’s products and vision.
Prior to Fizzi Mex, Arnie served as Head of Video Product at Fusion (2015-2017), where he was contracted by the Univision and Disney-owned cable channel to architect and implement their video product strategy and end-to-end workflow solutions. This included designing and developing OTT applications for a wide range of platforms and working with vendors to implement dynamic ad insertion. He also negotiated with MVPD, VMVPD, and SVOD providers to onboard content and architected linear to digital workflows for scheduling and distribution, including automated solutions for social media platforms. Furthermore, he engineered new linear channels leveraging digital content and playout server solutions.
At MyTVd (2013-2015), Arnie held the position of Senior Vice President of Product and Content Acquisition. He provided product vision and leadership to development teams, negotiated international content acquisitions, and defined the UX and backend for their web, mobile, and OTT offerings. He was instrumental in driving product creation utilizing various technologies and in developing detailed product roadmaps, managing partner agreements, and presenting to C-level stakeholders.
Arnie’s experience at Viacom International (2012-2013) as Senior Director of Video Product Management (Content Syndication and Distribution) highlights his expertise in managing large-scale digital video distribution. As the product owner for all of Viacom’s digital video content distribution, monetization, and syndication platforms, he oversaw the distribution of over six billion streams annually across major brands. He defined product vision and roadmaps, negotiated DAI solutions, designed syndication workflows, and spearheaded the consolidation of linear and digital workflows. Arnie also managed relationships with key distribution partners and directed the implementation of digital video closed caption requirements, while mentoring and managing product, project, and development teams across multiple continents.
Earlier in his career, Arnie served as a Senior Video Product and Partner Management Consultant at AOL Inc. (2010-2012). He directed engineering teams in the development of their Video Asset Management Platform (VAMP), significantly reducing content delivery times. He spearheaded syndication efforts, designed and executed advertising platform implementations, managed partner relationships, and oversaw the migration of a vast content library. His contributions led to a significant increase in monthly video streams.
Arnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Producing for Electronic Media with a Minor in Political Science from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. His strong educational foundation is complemented by a comprehensive understanding of relevant skills and platforms, including cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Bitmovin), ad tech platforms (Freewheel, Google Ad Manager, Facebook Audience Network, Amazon Ads), live remote video production, various programming languages, and project management tools.
